SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR 'Born in Papanasam, Tamil Nadu, India, it was apparent from the beginning that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was destined for a spiritual life - even as a young child, he was often found in peaceful meditation. At the age of four, his parents discovered him reciting verses from the Bhagavad Gita.Throughout his teens, he studied with many renowned spiritual masters and became a scholar of Vedic literature. During this time, he dedicated himself to a life of service.In 1982,ravishankar presented the world with a new gift for humanity -- the Sudarshan Kriya technique. In more recent times, he served on the advisory board of Yale University's School of Divinity and chaired the International Conference of Religions at Kyoto, Japan. In 1995, Sri Sri spoke at the United Nations' 50th Anniversary celebration.In August 2000, he addressed the gathering at the United Nations Millenium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders.
